Born in Poland, Agnes came to Canada with her family at the age of four. She has grown up in the High Park area and continues to reside in the local community. Agnes is currently working at Paramed Home Health Care’s Central and North-East District as the Operations Manager for home health care service delivery. Prior to this, she was Executive Director at various for-profit long-term care and retirement residences. Until last year, she was a member of the Silver Circle – West Toronto Support Services for Seniors and Disabled Adults Inc. board. During her five years on the board, she held the position of Vice President for the latter four years. In addition, she volunteered at St. Joseph’s Healthcentre Geriatric Unit for two years. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology and Social Science from York University. She is fond of volleyball as a player in high school and a coach while in university. If you ever find Agnes sitting down, it will be with her favourite magazine and a good glass of wine….otherwise she is away on a travel adventure!
Linda has lived in downtown Toronto for twenty years, since her graduation from the University of Toronto with a B.A. (Hons) in Political Science. She is a Portfolio Manager at Laurus Investment Counsel, an institutional investment manager, and prior to that worked in various roles in the investment management industry. She is a CFA charter holder and has completed numerous courses in the CICBV’s Chartered Business Valuator program.
Lana is a human resources professional and currently works as a manager of compensation and benefits. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has her certifications in human resources and compensation. Lana is actively involved with community agencies serving seniors in the GTA and for causes focused on children with autism. In her spare time she is an avid volleyball and golf player and enjoys exploring cultural activities in the city.
Roger holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Following his call to the Ontario Bar in 1990, he practiced criminal defence, immigration and refugee law and served as a member of the Child and Family Services Review Board. He is also a volunteer with Catholic Charities.
Mike was born in Vietnam and immigrated to Canada in 1979 with his family. He grew up in Regent Park and moved to West Toronto in 2012. Mike loves sports and engages our seniors in sports at the centre. Having worked in the restaurant industry Mike now leads many of our cooking and baking programs and also assists with our weekly Food Rescue Program.
Monyka was born and raised in downtown Toronto. She has an adult son and two beautiful grandsons. Monyka has worked with the school system as a teaching assistant, in the health care sector as a PSW serving children, youth, adults and seniors. She has also assisted in program development and engagement with TCHC. Monyka’s compassion and desire to give back to the community comes from her personal childhood upbringing.
Sandra was born and raised in Toronto and is the eldest of two daughters of her Portuguese Catholic immigrant parents. Sandra is married to a very supportive husband and together they have two beautiful daughters. Sandra has her Bachelor of Social Work from York University, a diploma in Gerontology from Seneca College and a certificate in Not for Profit Administration from OHNASS. Sandra started her career working for the Alzheimer Society of York Region, a not for Profit D.A.Y Centre working as the Program Manager for 9 years then moved to the for profit sector of LTC at Sherwood Court, A Revera nursing home in York Region and worked as the Executive Director for an additional 10 years before leaving to join LAC. Sandra loves to spend time in the kitchen cooking and baking for family and friends…hostess with the mostest!!!
Claudia was born in Honduras and moved to Canada with her family at the age of two. She grew up in Parkdale, where she lived in a very diverse community. From a young age she knew she wanted to work serving individuals, while supporting and coaching them to obtain a better quality of life. She graduated from the Social Service Worker program at George Brown College, and went on to take courses in Concurrent Disorders and Pre-Health. Claudia has over 5 years of experience working in the social service sector, working with youth, individuals with cognitive impairments and seniors. Claudia enjoys reading, dancing and taking her dog Gus to the park.
